What does all this mean? Well I strongly believe in putting my client's needs first. I take the time to get to know you as a person and your unique needs first, not as a condition. What's important to you, what you want to achieve, what you like or dislike, and what outcomes are going to be meaningful to you now and into the future. As someone living with disabilities through birth, I became a health professional to support others living with disabilities and deliver services with a level of care, understanding and attention that few others can. I'm committed to going the extra mile to support my clients with things like flexible hours, ongoing education for you and/or your support persons, and lower fees, so you can achieve the things that are important to you.
Your first session with me includes a comprehensive health screening and assessment, where we'll work together to understand what your individual goals are, how we can measure them, and what might work best for you - no one-size-fits-all approach. This initial assessment process is vital to create a baseline so we can compare against it and see how you've progressed in the future.
I'll then take all this information and the results from your assessments and develop a tailored exercise prescription and plan to target all of the areas that you've indicated are important to you.
On your next appointment and over the next 12 weeks, I will supervise and work together with you 1-on-1 to go through your program in the clinic. If you're interested in knowing the "why" behind your exercises, I'll also teach you the reasoning and evidence behind your workouts so you can develop a deeper understanding of and a greater control over your health.
For those using the NDIS, my fee is 25%+ lower than the majority of other providers in Brisbane and the NDIS price guide. That might sound absurd, but I became an Exercise Physiologist and health professional to help people, not price gouge for essential services. Living with disability myself, I'm also committed to supporting other people living with disabilities to help their funding go further.
Unlike most other providers, this fee is also fully inclusive - no hidden or additional fees, ever. That means if you need an initial or review assessment conducted, it's covered. No more having to pay extra just because it's your first appointment. Need a report written after an assessment? Covered. Communication or conferencing with your GP, healthcare team or support people? Covered. I believe all of this should come standard, so I'm putting my actions first and committing to doing just that as part of my service.
To claim Exercise Physiology through NDIS, your funding plan must include the relevant support categories and have Exercise Physiology as a recommended service. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the NDIA, a Local Area Coordinator (LAC), or your support coordinator.
Additionally, please be aware that as I am not a registered NDIS provider, you can only claim for my services if your funding is either Self-Managed or Plan-Managed.
